Troubleshooting

If you cannot start the program, there is probably a problem with your .NET framework installation.

Q. When running the program, an error window with code 0xc0000135 or with message "The dynamic link library mscoree.dll could not be found in the specified path..." pops up

A. The computer does not have .NET Framework 1.1 installed. Run the installer program and try again. Please note that you need to have sufficient rights (depending on your network settings) to install the framework.

Also:

Media Centre has some .NET problems. It usually works, but sometimes goes wrong.

Security Restrictions.

Also the .NET framework has strict security permissions. You cannot run AFP.NET from a network server or directly from the internet; it will produce this error if attempted. The Continue button will not work if this error occurs anyway.
If you are a user of Visual Studio .NET, you will receive a "jitter" warning dialog. Follow the same steps to copy the file locally to cure the problem.

To cure this error, copy the AdvancedShockwave.exe, AxInterop.ShockwaveFlashObjects.dll and Interop.ShockwaveFlash.dll files to your hard disc. If this continues to happen, follow the instructions on the dialog to give security permissions to AFP.

Windows Vista Beta 1

The developers beta of Windows Vista created a blue-screen STOP error when AFP ran. This was a problem with nv4_disp.dll, and is rectified when the correct NVidia display drivers are installed from either the NVidia website or the card's install CD. This problem should be fixed by Microsoft by the time Vista goes live.
